Where is JHN Exclusive: APED?

JHN Exclusive: APED is the long awaited next JHNEFU novel from author Jacob L. Hollingsworth and Jacob Hollingsworth Network, producers of the novel ‘JHN Exclusive: CYRUS’ (2022). JHN Exclusive: Cyrus received worldwide distribution and recognition for its provocative honesty as the 1st commercial writing from Jacob L. Hollingsworth. Now, he’s looking to bring upon a vaster world from the JHN Exclusive Fictional Universe with ‘APED’. So what’s taking so long for the novel to be released? There are a few factors leading to the delay that we will discuss here in a quite unclothed manner.

REASON #1: The Book Simply isn’t Finished Yet

We’d expect the novel to be near completion at this point, but Jacob says the novel isn’t nearly there yet. He hopes to have the writing complete by summer of 2025, but he now refuses to give a new timeline to his publishing partners at Outskirts Press, co publishers and distributors of JHN Exclusive: Cyrus. He’s already changed the deadline numerous times. There was a June 2024 timeline, an October 2024 deadline, a March 2025, and all timelines have come and gone with no word of completion. He’s only on the 2nd rewrite as he says he’s had to almost rewrite the entire novel. With Jacob’s writing process, we can expect no less than 3 revisions and 5 draftings until perfection.

The original writing and concept of the story came after Jacob’s senior year of high school, in 2012-13. He began illustrating the characters, the plot, the settings immediately after his graduation in Winter of 2012. Whilst doing this, he created foundations and character dynamics that he wanted to hold true as he initially wrote the story “Manga Style” with a “Comic book Style” combination. 12 years later and Jacob has matured as a writer and says that style of writing isn’t really “him” anymore. He feels he can be more in tune with his nature as an artist and visionary with the new stylings of APED.

REASON #2: Funding

Jacob is certain he can pull together the proper budget for the release, but he first wants to make sure he can capitalize on any type of momentum he can build prior and during the release of the book. He wants to make sure that the novel is not only a success for readers, but a success financially. That way he can be assured that the JHNEFU prospers beyond just CYRUS and APED. He’s expecting the budget for the novel to fall between $5K - $10K. In comparison, Cyrus had an estimated total cost of ~$8K. Jacob has been unable to make even half of the budget back for Cyrus, but he still considers it a win as the very 1st Commercial novel of the company, but he hopes he’s learned enough to make APED a success story.

REASON #3: Marketing

The writer hasn’t begun any mass marketing for the writing as he’s still only in phase 2 of the writing process. But he’s still made a list of numerous considerations for marketing. Including making sure the novel falls at the “right time” to be presented at various fairs and festivals, and to be suggested for qualifying award nominations. In addition, he will for sure be offering apparel as he did with CYRUS to bring the novel to life.

What Should We Expect Then?

We can still expect APED to be released in 2025. Since it’s already been over 3 years since ‘JHN Exclusive: Cyrus’, Jacob wants to maintain consistency by making sure he produces a valuable but tangible product that falls at the “right time”. Purchase JHN Exclusive: Cyrus Today!
